Digital marketers should learn a small set of AI tools well: a chat assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude for research, drafting and analysis, Canva for design, and n8n to automate repeat work. Use them as assistants, and always check facts, tone and results before anything is published.

Start small

There are hundreds of AI tools, and new ones appear every week. You do not need most of them. Learn a few well, apply them to real tasks and add another only when you have a clear job for it.

Chat assistants: ChatGPT and Claude

These are the most useful starting point. Use them to research a topic, outline an article, draft ad variations, summarise a report or clean up a spreadsheet of data. Give each one context: who the audience is, the goal and the tone. The better the brief, the better the result.

Design: Canva

Canva helps you produce social posts, ad creatives, presentations and simple videos quickly. Its AI features can speed up layouts and edits. Keep a consistent brand style so everything you make looks like the same business.

Automation: n8n

n8n connects your apps and runs steps for you. A simple workflow might take a new form enquiry, add it to a sheet, send an acknowledgement and alert the team. Start with one repeat task, build it, test it and only then add more. Our beginner guide walks through a first workflow.

Keeping quality high

AI can be wrong, and it can sound sure when it is. Google’s guidance on AI-generated content tells creators to fact-check what they publish, and warns against producing large numbers of low-value pages. Treat AI output as a first draft. Check it, improve it and put your name to it only when you would stand behind it.

Never paste private client data or customer details into a tool without checking its privacy terms and your client’s permission.

How this fits a course

Tools matter less than the thinking behind them: knowing the goal, the audience and the numbers. A good programme teaches AI inside real projects so you learn when it helps and when it does not. Browse our courses to see how this is taught.

FAQ

Will AI replace digital marketers?

AI takes over routine tasks, but marketers still set the goal, judge quality and own the results. People who use AI well will be more productive than those who do not.

Which AI tool should I learn first?

Start with one chat assistant, ChatGPT or Claude, and use it daily for real tasks. Add Canva and n8n when you have jobs for them.

Do I need to code to use these tools?

No. Chat assistants and Canva need no code, and n8n lets you build workflows visually.

Is AI-written content bad for SEO?

Google says what matters is whether content is helpful and accurate, not how it was made. Low-value, mass-produced pages are the risk.
